2022 Bago Vintage

Wet, Wild and Worthy 🍷

2022 vintage has been a wet year through out right from the beginning of grape shoots back in September there has been damp wet conditions , we have not had a hot summer ,just a wet humid summer .
So control of fungus , weeds and ever growing grape vines has made a different year . Saying that we are harvesting some excellent quality grapes though the sugar levels are down meaning the wines won’t be high alcohol wines . Verdelho looks great in the tank and as good as last year though only a small volume like last year .
Savagnin was down in volume and will probably only go to a straight varietal wine and not into our sparkling white . Chardonnay volume is up which is pleasing and quality of the first picked fruit was great .
We have just started on the reds , with chambourcin being picked for rose .

We are all look forward to tasting the finished product!
